Soundtrack for the month

12 days of Christmas. 12 holiday inspired blog post.
Since I was a little girl I've always had a thing for Christmas. The lights, the Nativity, the trees, the presents, the snow, the Christmas movies... I love getting together with friends and family and celebrate the Season. One of the thing I love most, anyway, is Christmas music. I love it all, from old, classic and traditional songs to new, rocking festive tunes.
In case you're on the market for some new CD or trying to build up your own compilation for the month, here are some of my all time favourite.

First of all, you can't miss any of the classics. So get:

"O Holy Night",
"We wish you a merry Christmas",
"O Come All Ye Faithful",
"It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas",
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas",
"Joy to the World",
"Deck the Halls",
"It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas",
"O Christmas Tree",
"Jingle Bells".

When you're done with the classics, you can go on and get something less traditional but still kinda-classic.

So check out:
"White Christmas" by Bing Crosby,
"Whatever Happened to Christmas?" by Frank Sinatra,
"We Wish You the Merriest" by Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra,
"The Twelve Days of Christmas" by Mitch Miller and the Gang,
"Silent Night" by Bing Crosby,
"Santa Claus Is Comin' (In a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train)" by The Tractors,
"Santa Claus Is Back in Town" and "Blue Christmas" by Elvis Presley,
"Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry (one of my fav always),
"Please Come Home for Christmas" by Charles Brown,
"Marshmallow World" by Bing Crosby,
"All I Want for Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey,
"Winter wonderland" by Ray Charles.
"Jingle Bell Rock"
"Rocking around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee.

Once you have these on your iPod, you're pretty much all set for the holiday, but if you fancy something different, I suggest: the Lynyrd Skynyrd "Christmas time again" album, "All i want for christmas is you" by My chemical romance, "It's christmas time again" by Blink182, by Train "Shake Up Christmas"... and I may REALLY keep going on and on for hours.

So, what's on your playlist for the Holidays?

Great collection of Christmas tunes. We keep our radio tuned to the Christmas station for the whole month, can't get enough of the music. I am hoping to pick up the new She & Him Christmas album for myself this year and my kids never get tired of the Chipmunk holiday tunes.
