10 things in 10 days.

Just ten more days, and we'll be in 2012. To me, that sounds as crazy as... Dunno. Just crazy. 2012? Woooah. I've just realized we're in 2011. Do you know how many time I stop and say, wait, 2010 or 2011? 10 days.

It's time for a list, 10 things I'm going to do (or I need to do) before the year ends, during these last 10 days.

1) Hair cut. This will actually happen on Saturday, 2pm. It's not going to be a major-change-cut, but my bang need a fix. I look like a very hairy dog. Almost.

2) Get caught up with my December Daily. This isn't going on as it was supposed, but I've been taking pictures, not the last 2 days, I know... but still... it's somehow "happening". But I still need to sit down and glue them to the album, right?

3) Try to "at least" organize the pictures I need to print for my 2011 Project Life. I have tons of empty pocket in the album, but I have the pictures, just need to sort them, print them and organize them. Ugh. Didn't seem so bad in my mind.

4) Clean up my room.

5) Decluttering and purging. I have way to much stuff.

6) Catch up with some TV shows. Oh yes. Need to do that before new seasons in January. And start watching some old one I always say I have to watch (like Mad Men).

7) Start reading a new book. It will probably be the new Stephen King one, or the Steve Jobs Biography. Or the new Kinsella novel. Not sure. But plan to read one during this winter vacation and start another one.

8) Get a new outfit for Christmas day. Well, maybe. Not sure this is going to happen, it will probably be just a new blouse.

9) Get a new "Trofast" unit from Ikea. Oh yes. (If *you* are reading this, we totally need it). It may happen now or during the first week next year. We'll see.

10) Set up a Project Life corner: which means, gather my supply all in one place.

I'm not a shopaholic. Most of the time.

I like to buy pretty things for myself. That's probably a weakness, but since I'm not a big shopaholic, I rarely buy expensive stuff. I don't have a thing for shoes or bags, I don't care about fashion or make up. So when I say I like to buy things for myself, it usually means craft supplies now and then and geek stuff. Well, gadget are probably the only expensive things I buy, and obviously I don't buy a new cell phone every day...But well, if there's something I want, I usually just go and get it.

This holiday season I did got myself a "little someting", which is not that little and I am not even going to have it in time for Christmas... more likely it will be mid January... and I so cannot wait now!! (I was a little hesitant at first, and almost didn't get it, but then "a little birdie" told me to bit the bullet and so I did...). Sooo, in just a few weeks I am going to be the owner of a rockin' new Silhouette Cameo!

How cool is that!? I'm happy it will be here (almost) in time for new year and the start of a new "Project Life" year. I plan to print many journaling tags and cut them with the Cameo. I haven't bought the Project Life core kit YET, but planning to order one from Amazon before it runs out... I'm still unsure whether I should get Clementine or Cobalt, but I think I'll go with Clementine.

And yes, that's another gift-to-myself. I told you I'm not a shopaholic.

Don't know about you, but to me, a cute packaging sometimes can be better than the present itself. Haven't got much time to wrap presents yet, this year, but the web (and Pinterest!!!) are filled with cute ideas... These are just a few. I love everything handmade, and since I've discovered Etsy a couple of years ago, it has become another time sucker, after Facebook (which I don't really update anymore), blog reading, web browsing, forum lurking and, pinning and so on.

Today I wanted to list a few Christmas themed items that caught my eye lately... in case you were still looking for stocking presents or just needed an excuse to get sucked into Etsy today.

This super cute pillow would be perfect on my red couch... I so wanted some festive pillows this year, oh well. Next Christmas. You can find it at Larksong Creations store.

Movie night. It's Christmas time.

I am a sucker for Christmas movies.

I love them all.

You just throw a Christmas'Eve in it, a tree, a mushy ending, and I'm in. Anyway, even if I'd really watch them all, I have my favourite. I've been watching these since I can remember, and not only in December, sometimes I watch them just because they make me smile. In my personal podium (which is not a real podium because I couldn't pick just three of them...) I'd put:

1. Home alone 2: Lost in New York. Of course, how can you NOT watch it during Christmas? One of the best. Ever.

2. Santa Claus: The Movie. Ok, this may be old, and I'm pretty sure it's not one of the best movies about Santa. But it will always be one of my best memory from when I was a little girl... and I really can not remember what age I was when I first seen this movie.

3. Little Lord Fauntleroy: (the one that came out in 1980). This one is not really about Christmas, at least at the beginning it doesn't talk about Christmas at all. The movie end with a big Christmas party though... and it really is a beautiful story. It wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't see at least a scene of this one.

4. Miracle on the 34th street. Now don't judge me. My choice about this movie will always be the remake that came out in 1994. I know. I said don't judge. I know the original movie may be better, but in my family we've always watched this one, so this going to be my pick.

5. The last movie choice is "Trading Places", and besides Christmas, it's probably one of my favourite movie ever.

Since I was a little girl I've always had a thing for Christmas. The lights, the Nativity, the trees, the presents, the snow, the Christmas movies... I love getting together with friends and family and celebrate the Season. One of the thing I love most, anyway, is Christmas music. We just got back from our trip to Copenhagen. We've been there for a quick gateway during the past weekend, since it was a long one due to an Italian holiday.

Saying it was pretty, it wouldn't say it all. It really is a magical place to visit in December, full of festive spirit and Christmas feeling.

I have been good this year, really. I've tried not to get mad at work (sorta), to eat better (mostofthetime), to keep up with started projects (kinda). In case you're listening, and are wondering, may I suggest you some very cool stuff you could wrap up for me, this year?

I've done a list on Pinterest, but here's a short wish list.

Could you please get me a Kitchen Aid, and make it Lime Green? I promise I'd use it to make good stuff.

One of your helper already got me the boots slipper I wanted, but you could bring me some rain boots instead. Make them yellow, or green. Since we're talking shoes, I really need those Mou boots, they seem sooo comfy and so cute. Thanks.

Can we talk for a second about nerdy stuff? I already *love* my old iPhone, but if you have a spare one (talking about the new one), I am the right person and could take good care of it, I promise. If it's still ok with your budget, get me one of those Fuji Pivi Printer. I know I already own a Fuji Instax, I know it takes away the "instant-feel-magic", but still. Pleasepleasplease, bring me one.

Craft stuff. Yes, because I am crafty. Most of the time, at least. Well, I try. Don't judge me. Sometimes I have great projects in mind, I just don't have enough time (or can't make enough time) to actually accomplish them. But I promise I'll get better.

If you want to help me, I think there are a few things you could bring me, just, you know, to help me stay motivated.

There's this new cool cutting tool, it just came out, it's named Cameo Silhouette. I'm pretty sure you already heard about them, it's in preorder almost everywhere, but I know you-know-people-that-know-people... I really love those We R Memory Keepers leather album, they're quite expensive, I know, so just send me a couple... lime green, maybe, or plum... They'd be perfect to store my Project Life pages. And since we're talking Project Life... what about the new "Core-Kit" that just came out on Amazon.

Dear Santa, not sure you're still there. In case you are, I'll add to the list a pretty bike, no, just send me two pretty bike, the kind with wicker bike basket, pretty please. So, this spring, we'll finally start using the bike instead of driving the car to get everywhere.

Dear Santa, if you can't bring me any of these things, that's ok. I don't really *need* anything, and I like to buy gifts for myself, so I'll get some of these things, eventually.

If you can, just send me snow, (pleaspleaseplease), send me festive songs, send me sparkling decorations, happy, warm-hearted Christmas wishes. Bring me chocolate and candies, smiles and hugs, decorated trees and happy carols. Send me cold days and fuzzy, comfy evening sitting by the enlightened tree.

Kindle makes you read.

And that is kinda obvious, since it's a reading device. What I mean, is that makes your read MORE. I've heard people saying this, before I even thought to buy one, but since I've been a proud Kindle (Harry, that's his name) owner for almost one year, now, I can say it loud. It really makes you read more. I always loved reading, but it makes it so easy, to just buy books, store them, organize them in collection. You don't need to go to the library or book store (things I still do, anyway, at least once per week....) if you don't want to. You can pick a new book anytime, anywhere, even the very last novel that just came out. It's so easy to throw it in your purse and bring it with you, anytime.

So yes, go get one, if you don't have it already. Ask Santa for it. And to my fellow italians, it's available on Amazon.it right now... Easy peasy.

I've ready a lot this year, not as much as I wanted, but quite a lot.

So lets make a list, shall we?

1) What make a Terrorist, Alan B. Krueger. This was not a new one, but quite interesting. Not a relaxing-kind-of-reading, anyway. But still...

2) Studio Illegale, Duchesne. Cynic, hilarious, so true. I don't think it has been translated in english, though.

3) Can you keep a Secret? S. Kinsella. Ok, I've read it in like 2 days. Not THAT good, not even really into this kind of books, but they're good if you just want to take a break. Plus hey, that's ok not to be too serious all the time.

4) Mini shopaholic. S. Kinsella. Same as the previous one. Plus I've read all the others in the series. Kinda funny, but not sure we needed another one.

5) I jumped on the Twilight wagon too, and read all of the books in the Serie. Ok. I'll just say it. Please don't be mad. Boring. Not all of them, sure, the first one was soooooo slow, but the thing get better as you keep reading, and the last book was quite enjoyable.

6) Skipping Christmas, John Grisham. Really funny, about this couple that want to skip Christmas since their only child has left to spend the year abroad. Bittersweet end, easy reading, some good laugh... They made a movie too, but haven't seen it yet.

7) Playing for Pizza, John Grisham. This is about an american football player who can no longer get work in the National Football League and whose agent, as a last resort, signs a deal for him to play in Italy. Funn-ish, but as Italian I must say it's full of clichè. Enjoyable, anyway.

8) The Pillars of the Earth, Ken Follet. This has been on my to-read list for too long, so I bit the bullet and gave it a go this year. It's long. But I really, really liked it.

9) Something from Tiffany's, Melissa Hill. A predictable, sappy romantic novel. I've bought it at the airport, ths summer, before leaving for the States. I thought, hey, it's set in New York, and that was one of the stop during the trip, so I got it. I haven't finished yet, but pretty sure I already know how it's going to end...

On my list... There's the new book from Stephen King, 22/11/63 and the Steve Jobs biography from Walter Isaacson.

So... this is it! It's december! The most wonderful time of the year, is here!

I've decided to give the "December Daily" album a try this year. I haven't took any picture yet, for today, but there's not much to feel joyful and christmassy about, at the office, so... I'll think about something tonight. My album is pretty much done already, I am waiting for some pretty things from the October Afternoon new line, "Holiday Style" (totally in love with), and I need to add some more details, but I plan to do it as the month goes on. I want to keep it quite simple, one picture a day, maybe an instax picture, (so no need to upload, edit, print...), some washi tape, and a few embellies, that's it.

I was so excited about this project... now I just hope I'll get caught up and won't fall behind!!!

Early Christmas

I am such a nerd.

I've sold my old PS camera, last week (sob... I was so attached to it...) and got myself a new one. What was wrong with my old camera? Pretty much... nothing. It was perfectly fine and a very good camera indeed. I just wanted a camera with GPS built in it, so I got myself the new PS Canon SX230 IS. How cool is that... lol! Cannot wait to use it on my nex trip to the States...

As is that wasn't enough, I've bought a Western Digital TV live, which is basically a media center, that will let me watch all of my beloved Tv Shows on Tv, without the need to convert files, burn cds... and finally on a real screen (I use to watch them on my lappy, which is fine, but if you're like me and watch A LOT of TV Shows... you want something more comfortable).

So... Yay for my early Christmas!

So, did you get the chance to check out this new Social-thing? I'm so curious!! But I think that's the whole point about this Google+. It's a VIP thing, right now, you need to be invited in, and even if you've been invited, it's not sure you can actually register, since lately they didn't let invited people register either. So that's an old story, you want what you cannot have! Anyway, I hope I'll get to check this thing out soon, and hopefully it won't be disappointing as Google Wave or Buzz... By the way, are you still using those!?

So, this is it. July 1st. This means half year has gone. Wow, where did the time go!?
The best part of being in July already, anyway, is that in 1 month and 11 days I'll be on vacation. For two.whole.weeks. Yep!!
Cannot wait.
That even means we'll be leaving for our trip on August 13rd, how cool is that!? We're still planning a few details, but we're almost there. The map above shows our itinerary, landing in Boston, and then by car/train/bus down till Washington. If you have tips/what to do/what not to do... those are very welcome! More details on the trip coming...

Boy, time's fast. I'll be 30 next year. Just 364 more days and then bye bye number *2*. I'm not scared to get older, anyway. I'm more scared I won't do all the things I wanna do now in time, and when I'll be able to do it, I will have to do something else or those things won't matter anymore. I know, no-sense at all, right?

I've decided to make a list, 30 things I wanna do this next year, during these 364 year before I turn 30. Have you ever made one? I'd love to hear what you've put in it.

Bad, bad blogger myself.

I've been mia for the past... month I guess. Not that I've been *that* busy that I couldnt stop and post here, but I just didnt feel like I wanted to.

Sometimes I wonder. What's the point on keeping a blog? At first, when I first opened this blog, it was all about scrapbooking. I jumped into this digital scrap thing and thought I had to have my own blog, to post my pages for the several CT I was on. Then, I kinda quit, well. I totally quit all of my cts, and I just started blogging about scrapbooking, and then about me and my life. Random things, nothing much.

The thing is I don't really have many readers, neither I have a far away family that need to be updated by reading my blog. So here I am. What's the point.

Well, I figured out I don't really care if no one's reading my blog. My life's not su much exciting, so why should you read about it.

Anyway, randomness time today, again, I guess!!lol.

So, what's the point on this post, today? Well. Just wanted to share some pictures about my past weekend. A short trip to Grado, and a long walk on the beach... lazyness on the couch and strawberries.

I <3 Amazon. For so many reason! I love to browse through the site when I'm bored, I love to check out other people "lists", I luv that most of the time it's really convenient to get stuff there... and I love that they're fast and that they always anwer to questions you make.

We have amazon.it here in Italy, now... And I have to say I love that too. I've tried it out around Christmas and was impressed, really quick and cheaper than actual stores (talking about books here...). Unfortunately, there's not much on it yet, mostly books, dvds.. and something else. Hopefully it will grow up quickly. I've used the German amazon too, once, and that was ok too.

Of course, the best is stiil amazon.com.

Of cours = amazon = shopping.

Shopping means "What did I get myself this week??".

Well... I've been thinking and thinking... But I really couldn't keep waiting. And I had to get myself a Fuji Instax Camera!!

After seeing so many cool project made with it, I thought it would have been great to add some instax pict to my project life... and would love to print a few and hang them somewhere in my house. It should be here next week... Can't wait!!

I was really undecided whether to get just a folder kind of case, or a more protective one, where you can keep it while you're reading. After lots thinking, I got this one from Verso, I think it will be just fine to keep it from scratch. And it doesn't hurt that it's pretty too.

So... here I am. Very patiently waiting for my new toys to get here.

So, I've been trying out the Hipstamatic app lately, just for fun. It can get REALLY addictive, though, once you start, so if you're planning on getting it for your iPhone, be ready to start feeling the need to get tons of purple-vintage-sorta-look-pictures to trees, dogs and... people. And I've found out that not everyone are excited to be photographed hundreds of times from weird angles by you and your phone. lol

Anyway, last night my "lil" (she's almost 25, should I quit calling her "little"? Ain't necessary, right..?) sister was ultimating her final college Thesis, and Piero helped her with some savvy, nerdy tips.

I'm really having an hard time lately trying to get any scrappy project done.

Or any project, for that matters. It's not like I don't have ideas, I have tons, and I'm daily amazed by the inspiration that comes from anything and everywhere. But when it comes to actually put those ideas into action, I black out. It's like if my mind gets empty. I know I have those great ideas somwhere, I just cannot get them done in reality.

And if I ever get things done, I never ever like what I do. I really hate any single thing. Is that normal? lol

Please, you don't have to answer that, even 'cause probably it is. I think I just want to improve myself, but sitting there and not being able to put in action things doesn't help.

Anyway, this year is going to be different. It has to be. I wanna improve, I wanna learn, I wanna learn to love what I do, and learn to do what I love. I wanna succeed.

Succeed. This is going to be my little word for 2011. This year, I wanna succeed.

In the meantime, two little pages that took me ages, I still don't like them, but hey, I'll call them done.

The 10 things I cannot live without.

1. External Hard Disk. Seriously, love them. I own 2, both LaCie (never had a single problem with them...). A tiny portable 640Gb "Rikiki" and a 500Gb Desktop one. The portable comes with me pretty much everyday.

2. My iPhone. I should say my cell phone, because I've always been addicted to it, since way before I owned an iPhone. Sure thing is, now I love it even more.

3. Marta, my white Macbook. Yes, it's a "he" and he's name is Marta. He is almost 3 year and something old now, but still works like a charm. On it, Photoshop to scrap and iPhoto to organize my photo. Love love love it.

4. "Moment" pills. Great friend against my bad and frequent headaches.

5. Tv shows. I don't care much about tv, in general, but really I'm a sucker for tv shows. Any kind, good ones or bad ones, doesn't matter.

6. My car. I didn't really wanted to get one, too much money to invest on it: gas, insurance and so on. But I had to get one, since my office is too far to be reach in any other way. Now that I have it, anyway, I love that I can go anywhere, anytime I want.

7. My boots. I love them so much, I wear them every single day from September to May.

8. My Rowenta "Lissima" phon. Totally worth the money.

9. Chocolate. Enough said.

10. Music and books. So My 180Gb Classic iPod full of songs and albums, and a good novel.

Videogames and Eggs.

How old is too old to play videogames? And can you ever be too old to play videogames, and actually enjoy them?

I'm not ashame to say I own a nintendo DSlite, which I adore, and I got it as a Christmas present from my adorable and thoughtful boyfriend a couple of years ago.

We've been even very tempted lately to get ourself a Xbox360... and our only concern is that we may suddenly stop sleeping and eating because of that... lol.

I love those mini phone-style games too, Doodle Jump over the others (really addictive).

Something else I like to play with randomly, are a couple of (not even too old) Tamagotchi. I didn't get them when I was little, my parents wouldn't let me have one (probably right, too distractive and somehow addictive...), so I got them a few years ago. When I'm bored or just feel like it, I press the tiny button on the back of the blue egg and ta-dah, that little blinking buddy is alive. Again. And again. I never manage to keep it alive too much, most of the time I forget it somewhere and found it when... well, let's just say it's too late to save it.

This morning, anyway, it was still there, jumping and sending virtual kisses around.

You silly egg, be happy while I still remember to feed you... And then, well, don't worry, you'll just go in a better place.

Backup-systems hoarder.

Most of the people I know think it's crazy. Almost a maniacal disorder. But I need to backup. Weekly. Daily. But here's the thing. To me, a random backup on Dvds is NOT enough. I do that too, and at first that was the only thing.

But then I started thinking... what if the Dvd with all of my picts from that fab trip to Barcelona got scratched? Or lost...? What if I think it has been well ripped and then, when I pull it out to enjoy the picts again, I find out it's (somehow) corrupted?? It would be a disaster, right? Especially if that's the only copy of your priceless pictures. I could rip 2 different copies of the same Dvd, so, in case one got damaged, I would have the other one. But still, that just didn't seem enough safe to me. Plus, how long will a Cd or a Dvd last? They're pros are that Dvds are cheap, the backup is fast, they're easy to store.

I could use a portable HD, and store my data on it. In fact, that's a part of my backup strategy. But still, because of my maniacal backup syndrome, I feel like I need more. An Hard Disk could rip off the table, could stop working without a reason, plus they will last way less than (a well ripped) Dvd.Of course, it all depends on where it's kept, if it's always plugged in, how many times you turn it on, and so on..

The pros of an external Hd is that it has lots of room (2Tb Hard Disk are now way cheaper than in the past...) and you can save on a single Hd probably all of your data.

There's another way to backup your precious data, though. Online backup. There are tons of options when it comes to pick the right service, and it's really subjective. Of course, they have a price. And it may require a very long time to make the first upload of your data, sometimes it takes months.

Once you're done with your first upload, though, they'll backup daily in background, and you won't have to think about it anymore. You can restore your data in case you lose something, and depending on the service, they'll provide a link or sometimes a copy of your data on dvd.

What system to use when it comes to backup? It really is up on the single case.

What about me when it's about my data?

Hello, I am a backup-systems hoarder. I use all of those mentioned systems. Yes, I do.

I store my pictures and data at least one one copy of Dvd, on 2 different Hard Disks (a portable one, which won't last too long since I always carry it with me) and a bigger one, that I plug in just for backup, and I use Memopal, an online backup service.

The thing I love about Memopal is that I can backup my stuff from any computer by logging in my personal account on their site. I can backup from an hard disk and from my laptop. I can choose to backup everything or backup just the folders I pick, plus it won't delete anything once it's uploaded if I delete a folder from my hard disk. If you're looking for an online service, I would suggest you to check it out. It is a little more pricy than Mozy or Backblaze, but in my opinion way better (I did try Mozy for a while). iPhones users can also use this service by accessing Memopal files using a free app.

I'm even trying out Smugmug for my pictures, just doing a one-month subscription for now.

Am I crazy? Sure. Over anxious? Probably... :)

The most important thing about backing up, anyway? Is to remember to actually do it.

So, we were there a couple of days later Christmas. Perfect timing to avoid the crowd from Christmas day, and right in time before all of the New Years crazyness.

It was great. The weather was great, the city was sparkling, with lights and decorations everywhere. The food was yummy (Bruschette and Ribollita, so good....) and the sights lovely. Every time I go there I fall in love with that city. You lucky, lucky Fiorentini! lol

It's an expensive coffee with a gorgeous view...

It's definitely lots of fun.

How bad I am with this blogging thing?

I haven't posted a single word in one month. Woah.

Happy Christmas, by the way. And oh, yes, Happy New Year too! lol...

How did you spend the holiday? I was quite lucky, and got 2 whole weeks off work. I spent Christmas day with my family, of course, and been for a short trip to Firenze right after that.

That.Was.Awesome.

I could never get tired of Firenze, and during Christmas time it's even more beautiful, if that's possible. I took tons of pictures, so hopefully in the next days I'll try to catch up and post some.

I've started my Project Life on the 1st. Yes. And don't know how, but I'm keeping up with that! I'm actually taking a picture a day. Not journaling all of them (yet), but I definitely will. I'm loving the project so far, and if I can keep up with, I'll buy the 2011 edition to use next year. I am using the 2010 edition right now (but eyeing the Projet Life Turquoise Edition. So pretty in blue..!)

The major deal with the project, to me at least, is to print the picture. We don't have a "send in, and pick up later" kind of service here in Italy, so I need to stock up a few and print them during the weekend. Boring, I know, to wait. Sooo... I made myself a late Christmas present (as if the Kindle I'm waiting to receive later this week wasn't a late Christmas present already...), and bought a Canon Selphy Photo Printer. It can only print 6x4, but it's perfect for my Project Life, and for any other crafty need.

I'm planning to print my first 10 days of Project Life pictures and fill my album tonight or tomorrow... I'll be posting some photo about how it came. Can't wait!

How was your weekend?

The more we get closer to "THE" season (read it: Christmas time), the more I love weekends. I love how everything sparkles and says "Christmas". Well, not everything yet... but it is starting.
I love walking around feeling the chilly winter air. I love buying Christmas decorations and I love planning Christmas surprises and gift lists for family. I went to this Christmas fair yesterday, it was too crowdy, but still so packed with pretty things!

I got a few decorations for the tree, and a very, very cute stuffed raindeer. Plus, Piero got my an adorable felt pin: it's an owl, and I love it. And it's named Powl.

I even got some scrapping time, two pages about a trip to Vicenza and another one about a few weekends ago, on Piero's birthday.

I'm gonna make another post about the trip to Vicenza, I had such a great time between the fair and the visit to the city... anyway, just thought to share quickly my scraps... since they're such a rare material, lol.

I can't really believe we're just 52 days away from Christmas.

Did you start thinking about presents, decorations, cards already!? I did.

I love so very much Christmas.... and can't wait to make the tree. I'm thinking about making some handmade felt - decorations, this year, and I'm trying to make some distressed tag with funny stamps on to hang all over.

I've bought this distress ink from Tim Holtz... and I still need to find out the best way to use it.

Since I was a little girl, I've always enjoyed watching old school movies with my family.

I've always been into those 40's and 50's romantic comedy and I keep watching them even now.

So, it has been ~~a bit~~ just sad, today, to find out that Tony Curtis passed away, at the age of 85.

Operation Petticoat (Operazione Sottoveste) will always be one of my favourite movie ever, and I remember me and my sisters watching it over and over.

So, thank you Tony, for being part of some great family memories.

So, we all love our iPhone, I'm pretty sure... and we all love our mac and all of the Apple stuff.

So, this being said. I woke up this morning, and there's this news pretty much all around, about this new app for the iPhone, named "What Country" that basically give you pictures and words for the country you pick in the app.

Of course, it's not supposed to be taken seriously.

But come one, which is the first country you're going to "explore" with the app? I'm pretty sure it's your own. And sure, playing with the app gets nice if you read something about it like "romance" or "discipline".

Italy is not one of this case.

And here I return to the news I was talking about... Between pizza and pasta, here it goes the word "mafia". I'm not mad, that's a tragic fact about the history of my Country, we can't hide and pretend it's not true. But seriously, is that the first thing that come into your mind when you think about Italy? Between pizza and pasta? What about fashion? I thought people loved to shop here, spending tons of money with Gucci, Prada or Armani stuff. I've seen you, tourists! And what about history? What about Leonardo, Michelangelo? Florence and Rome? What about Art? Ever heard about some cute paint, named "La Gioconda"? It happens to be the most famous paint ALL OVER THE WORLD. And it's Italian. What about wine? And what about cars? And still, what about soccer? I'm pretty sure there are plenty of stuff when it comes to think about Italy.

I cannot think billion of tourist come here every year just because they don't know where else to go.

Again, I know the app is a silly game, and you're not supposed to take it any close to serious. But come one, was that really necessary?

The developer said "The app is not intended to make any kind of offenses regarding Italy.This app is a light-hearted and funny view of the world. This is not a travel guide and should not be taken too seriously". And that's ok. We got it, it's a silly game. Just know, dear developer, there're really nothing funny about the mafia.

So. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed.

Not sure why, but I hate Tuesday way more than Monday.

I know Monday are harsh, but you know it's a new start, and you're kinda "prepared" to face them every week... Plus you're coming from the weekend, so usually you have sometyhing cool to think about.

I really like Thursday, because the day after it's Friday, my favourite day of the week...

I love ♥ Fridays. Maybe it's because it's the last working-day of the week, maybe because the next day I can finally sleep... But you always have some sense of expectation on Friday, as if something super exciting might happen that weekend. And no, as I said, I don't really like Tuesday and Wednesday because they're too far from Friday, and too far from the previous weekend too...

Anyway, enough rambling! It's 5pm and I'll be heading home in one hour, the sun is shining and the phone stopped ringing. So it's not that bad!

I've took some time off last night and scrapped a little for my September Portfolio, I did just one challenge that fit, but still quite proud of the other page.

And of course, here I'm sharing really quick...

And another one... I haven't made a page with my family in a while, so I think it was about time... lol

It's that time of the year, when your city gets crowdy all in a sudden. When people gets out every night even if just to ramble around. When there's this smell coming from all over, and you're not sure if it's a good one or a bad one. When you're not hungry, but you're going to have the food you could eat in days. It's that time of the year when you say the word "frico" more than the word "hello".

If you don't know what I'm talking about and not sure this time of the year ever came for you, well... it means you probably never been to Udine during the annual Friuli DOC.

If you get the chance to be close to Udine, you should come, and enjoy the food, the color, the people, the lights, the happy drunk, and most of all, the frico.

To my fellow citizen, I'll be there, most of the time close to the smelliest frico stand in town.

It's here!!

My Project Life finally got here! I ordered the Becky Higgins Project Life on Amazon 2 weeks ago, it travelled a little bit around the States and finally yesterday got here!

I was so excited yesterday, look at that happy face of mine :)

I'm planning to start with it on December, and I'll try to be good and keep updating it for a whole year. Piero says he'll be checking on me to be sure I actually keep up with it... So I better do it!

And no, I'm not that nerdy, I didn't get these pictures myself, Piero actually got for me and then fixed them to make them so pink-ish and pretty.

What does september mean to you?

When I was in school, and even when I was in college, it was the best and the worse moment of the year. The best because after one summer spent at home, the idea of a brand new, fresh start was exciting. I used to *love* going shopping with my mum to get school supplies, books and stationery. Those books smelt soo good, and It was so nice look at them and cover them carefully. Of course, that was a short-lasting excitement.. like 2 days only , but September was a frest start. You make lots of resolutions in September, like I'll be a better student or I'll start going to the jym. It was the worse moment of the year because summer it's over, you HAVE to go back to school, to your old life, and those books aren't pretty enough to make you happy to get up at 6.30 every day.

What does September mean, now? Well, it's just another month, you work in July, in August, September is just the one that comes after.

That doesn't mean you can't make resolution.

What are your resolutions?

I want to make something, I want to make a difference in my life. I want to find a better job and I want to keep planning amazing trips abroad. I want to start my project365 in December. I want to find something that will stop making me think "what if...".

No more if.

And I want to actually get at least 10 points with my portfolio over at SSD! I even scrapped a little this weekend... But didn't get to make anything that fit in the portfolio. Well, I'm working on it!

What is your favourite scrapbooking/crafty item, tool, element? What can't you live without? To me, it's definitely Alphas and patterned papers. I didn't realized how much I like to use them till I started digiscrapping... I rarely use flowers and ribbons anymore, but a page doesn't seem "done" to me till I put somewhere a bold title with a pretty alpha. With paper scrapbooking I think it's the same, I love to collect alphas and put them anywhere. Whether it's a sticker alpha or a chipboard. My favourite, anyway, are the "Thickers" from American Crafts.

I love them. I'm totally addicted.

Unfortunately (or luckily, for my back account...) you can't find them pretty much anywhere here in Italy. Some italian online store has them, but not the whole collections.

I love them because they're easy to use, they look great pretty much with any project you're making, and they're so cute! My favourite are the felt alpha, too fun.

So, what's your crafty addiction??

My daily rant

I'm done.

I'm tired to be treated by my male colleagues like their secretary, which I'm not, by the way.

I do write letters and make calls, sometimes, when my boss ask me to, but I'm not his secretary. And please, don't get my wrong. I know there's nothing wrong about being a secretary even, just, in this case, I'm not. And even if I was, it'd be frustrating anyway, because of the way they treat me.

I know stuff about the company most of the people working here doesn't know and they have to come to me if they need most of that stuff. They have no idea where to get papers, files and what to do in tons of circumstances. But even in these cases, I'm still the girl who make copies and change the paper toilet rolls.

I know I always said it's easier to work with men than with women, but it's not always like that. I really wish they'll hire another woman, anytime soon.

I even hope to find another job, sooner or later. I know, right..? In this economy? Well, maybe not right now, but soon, in the next months. I'm looking around, I want to fix my resume and maybe even send it somewhere. I'm not really hoping to hear from anyone anythime soon, but who knows. They always says it's easier to get a job when you're working already.

Who knows. I've thought I could maybe find some language class, or some more specific law class I could take for some time, to improve the resume. But I'm not sure I could work 10 hours per day and study at the same time... It would stress me out too much, I think... and I'm already crazy enough. lol.

Well... enough rant for today. I should go change the toner cartridge. It seems these big, grown men can't do it.

1. This is hard. How can you pick just one?? Anyway, since I'm living in Italy, I have to say cake doughnut, that's pretty much the only one you'll easily find here.

2. I pray quite often... But mostly I think about God.

3. I love old school rock and roll, punk and the very less-classic and kinda-emo punk-rock. I know, I said it.

4. I don't eat lots of chines food... anymore. I have to say anything with vegatable. And love me some fried ice cream! Yummy.

5. This is a super easy one. I love snow, I love winter. So i'll pick that. But I can neither swim nor snowboard... So I should pick watch tv at home. While outside it's snowing, of course.

The Twilight saga.

So, at the end, I did it. I bought the first book of the Twilight saga.
I wasn't going to buy it. I have the movie, still sitting on my table, and still haven't seen it. Everyone talk about this saga, someone loves it, someone hates it. I just didn't know what to think. But, I knew that If I would have seen the movie and loved it, I would have regret I haven't read the book first.

And this is it, last weekend we were walking randomly in a library, and I've bought it, on the spur of the moment.

I have read just something like 50 pages, but as now, I think it's well written, and sure it's catchy... but i'll have a better opinion whether it is worthy or not in a few days.
What do you think, did you read the books? Seen any movie?
Is it a "love it" or "hate it"?

I don't wanna forget... the flight.

The Louvre.

The Apple Store(s) (We're total nerd, I know....).

The food. Well, the crèpes and the soup a'l'onion.

The Tour Eiffel, and the view from it by night *magical and sparkling*.

The HUGE line to get to the Chateau de Versailles. TOTALLY worth 2 hours in line, btw.

His enthusiasm.

That being said, it was an amazing trip, Paris really *is* a magic place. And that just makes the come back home (and work) worse. Well, at least I have more than 1300 pictures to enjoy.

I know it's still summer. I'm not crazy.

I really wanted to scrap today, but couldn't get any page done. Don't know how, but all of a sudden, got this one done in 3 seconds.

Christmas always inspire me.

This is the very first picture we got together in 2010.. with my brand new camera. I know it's all fuzzy, but I like it, and that tree was amazing.

My google account has been "hacked".

Well, not technically hacked, someone managed to access it.
How do I know? Well, I got an official message from Google, saying someone logged into my account 19 hours ago from the States (they gave me the IP, and it's somewhere in Texas, I think). And obviously I wasn't in Texas yesterday.
It totally sucks. I've changed the password, of course, but still, it sucks. I don't know who/what site logged in, they say it could be some web service that asked for my password before, but I'm very careful when it comes to give away my password and try not to use it if it's not the official google site. Anyway... Hopefully by changing my password, it'll be fixed. But still, for people like me, spending so much time on the net, it's scary to know how easily some stranger can break into your digi-life. It's like someone would break into your room and start snooping around.

I've been doing some research before my french-trip, next week... What to see, where to eat and so on. Something I really love to do, when I am planning a trip somewhere, is to make a custom Google Maps and fill it with address and info. I think it's really helpful, it gives you a great idea of distances and it's perfect to organize your visit by area. It's really easy make one, you can keep it public or private, and add any sort of info: you can even personalize it, by using different icon for different things. There are even tons of public pre-made maps, made from other people: these are great too, I use them all the time to get inspiration for a nice restaurant or a cool see sight.
You will need a google account to make one, but once you make it, you can save it there forever.
And if you're an iPhone addict as I am, there's a tiny *free* app that will let you browse your map and tag anywhere!
Can't wait to use my new-customized-map in Paris, now :)

I've been stuck with this picture, and for no reason it was like I couldnt get it scrapped... Well, after like 10 different los of the same picture, I've decided it was time to let it go.. And this is what I came up with.

Do you ever feel stuck with some memories, like you don't want /can't get it scrapped? As if, when you'll be done with them, it will be forever, and you just don't think you can make them enough "good" for that? I know it's silly, the most important thing is to scrap a memory, who cares how it will look in 10 years. But still, it happens.

So, the story behind the picture isn't great in itself. Italy didn't win that first game and got out the world cup right after... BUT. Me and Gertrude had lots o fun dressing up with our National colors.

Well, actually she liked the bow for like 30 seconds, right the time to shoot a quick pict with my iPhone and listen our National Anthem before the game started. She loses interest for things... pretty quick.

Well, besides for peanuts. She's a sucker for peanuts.

What do you do when your boss at work gently avoids you for a couple of days and avoids to sign and confirm the application for your annual leave, the same you sent him 2 weeks before ? What do you do when you are forced to book hotels and flights, or the only remaining option for mid August will be camping in your backyard? Easy. You stalk him and ask him.to.SIGN.
That's what I did. Eventually, he signed my application, and we were able to book flights and hotel in Paris. YAY. Too bad it cost us €200 more.
What did I learn from this? I'll make him sign next year annual leave this weekend, just in case.
So, the good news is that for two whole weeks next month I'll be away from this office.
No more papers to fill, phone calls to answer, stuff to organize and people to talk with. I'll get to eat healthy home-made food, sleep and maybe even scrap a little.

Can I say I just cannot wait??

What I have learned today...

So, I've learned that if you need an hair cut, or to just fix your hair (like, for example, fix your bangs.....) you really need to let some professionist do it for you. You cannot simply grab your scissors and cut your bangs.

Or maybe you're good and can do it, but I obviously can't.

I did it this morning. And now my bangs has a not-very-slightly oblique cut. And no, it's not fancy, it's just oblique and very short on the right side. I think I may need to go visit some professionist and let him fix it someway.. Or I may just keep it this way and tell people it was made on purpose.
It seems someone think it's a good idea.

I think I'll just let some weeks go by, and then I'll have it fixed.

Yes, summer, yes, vacation.
I really, really need a break. It's not like I'm doing the worse job in the world, but I need a break from it. I kinda hate my job, I know that I should consider myself really lucky these days, with so many people without a job and an income.
Is there an easy way to stop hating your job?
And bringing tons of candy and chocolate with me everyday to feel better isnt an option, it is just not practical.
Did I mention I am the only women here? The only one in the whooooole company. I'm pretty sure they'll ask me to make coffee, someday.

So, I'm counting down the days till I'll be on vacation. Still 2 weeks and an half. Can't wait.
We planned to go to Paris, this year. Still haven't decided how, for how long and where we're going to stay, but hey, those are always minor details to us. I know! Paris. How exciting?! I've already been there almost 10 years ago (holy...), it was one of those high school trip, so we walked a lot and seen a little.
I bet I'll take a million pictures, hope those will help getting my scrapping-mojo back!

Rocking the weekend in Venice.

That. Was. Amazing.

Like now I can say I actually did one of the 30 things to do before I die. I
've seen the Aerosmith performing live! We've been to the Heineken Jammin Festival in Venice the past weekend, and could actually seen not only them, but even the Cranberries and the Stereophonics. It was crowdy, humid and so hot, but we had lots of fun... We did have to wait like 4 hours before their show, sitting on the grass... but at the end was so worthy!

Being in Venice on the weekend gave us the opportunity to visit the city by night... Never been there so late before! I know it's not too far from my place, but I've been there rarely. I definitely have to go there again soon, it was so pretty! No tourists, shops closed, empty streets... Amazing!
I still have to organize my pict from the weekend, but this is a great video I've found, so enjoy....

Harry Potter is coming back.

Ok, it's a fact.
I've been in love with Harry Potter books long before the movies, the merchandising and all of this Harry Potter craziness. But, after reading 4 books, I thought I had to see the movies too... Of course I was sure they would have disappointed me, but at the end, they didn't. Yes, the books are way better, and if you haven't seen the movies yet, I would suggest go read the book first. But the movies are quite amazing too, I think, accurate and very well made. Anyway, all this to say that today finally they release the new Harry Potter movie trailer!! It's actually a 2 parts movie... and it kinda sucks they're releasing the second one next summer... but fine, can't wait to see the first part this november!!

I think I havent already showed you my Christmas present... I totally love my little canon... It's not the fancy kind, but still.. it rocks!!

So... Some of you may have thought I've decided to take a long trip around the world... nope. I know I've been mia for a loooong time... Unfortunately, I've just had a very busy time and I've been totally stucked with anything crative. I'm still processing the moment, but something's slowly happening. I made a page last night about a short trip we took to Vicenza, to see the hobby and craft fair they had there every spring. I LOVED it.

Ok, I guess I have to admit that. Christmas is over. Well, almost, I can enjoy this festive feeling till tonight, then tomorrow everything will be over!! I'm saaaad!!! I'm gonna miss my Christmas tree, the lights around the city and even all of those happy silly movies they're keep showing on tv. Tomorrow after 2 weeks of vacation I'll be at work again and I guess someone will take down my beautiful tree. Well, it even means a new year just started and so many new things are going to happen. Any project for the new year??? Scrappy, crafty, or just something you wanna do? I have tons of unfinished projects, so I guess i'll just focus on that, plus who knows, maybe something else along the way.
